Legg-Calvé-Perthes
Legg-Calvé-Perthes is a disease that affects the top of the femur bone (major rear leg bone that connects to the hip socket). A somewhat comparable disease (Luxated Patella) affects the other end of the femur bone, the patella (or kneecap).

Most of the time your vet will be able to successfully diagnose and treat your Westie for whatever ails him or her. However, there may be times when the problem is rare/unusual/complex and you may need the services of a board certified veterinary specialist.

In the Search Area fill out the form, click on “Small Animal” and “Orthopedics”, and then click “Submit Search”.
