Westie Health Concerns

The West Highland White Terrier Club of America web site has an excellent list of virtually all of the health concerns that affect Westies, plus lots of additional information about each concern. Rather than duplicate all of the information, we are providing a link below. Please do not become concerned that Westies as a breed are plagued with a ton of health problems. Rather, a relatively small percentage of Westies do have one or more of the health concerns listed. Westies are a tough, hearty breed; they have some health concerns just like any other breed of dog. Our goal in the Westie Foundation is to minimize or eliminate as many of the health concerns affecting Westies as possible.
